Hardly a cloud 9 start to the season after much anticipation brought the Reds a valuable point away at Reading, however not without incident. (This is Nottingham Forest).
Although many web sites have not yet included their data for this first week out the Red card shown to Chambers hopefully will not seal a seasons performance. Clearly the squad are hyped and ready albeit shooting prowess is just a little distant at the moment, Even short at the back they seemed to hold their own, however and with no malice or taking anything away from Reading, this wasn't Manchester United.
Perhaps the home game against Bradford will shed more light on what we are to expect this season in the league cup.
Forest were always a strong side in this cup especially. It would be fantastic to see us do well in any cup of course but this one is well known to us and a good indication of where we actually are in the Universe of football.
Ticket prices as expected have gone up so let's all hope this does not effect a turnout on Wednesday with Bradford. Times are hard enough these days and many people put the more fanciful things aside in times such as these.
As to what was apparently a front 4? (If we understand that correctly?) Perhaps some target and passing practice beyond the D might be in order.
Reading 0 Nottingham Forest 0
Not what many expected, but a point away is a point away, chambers yes is a Red but we ironically cannot do with too many of the type shown on Saturday.
